The number of legally employed Ukrainians in the Czech Republic has reached 150,000, up from 123,000 in April. According to the Ministry of Labor, in the third quarter, their tax and contribution revenues amounted to 5.9 billion crowns, exceeding government refugee support expenditures of 3.9 billion crowns.
In 2024, the total revenue surplus over expenditures reached 5.7 billion crowns. However, as Ministry of Labor spokesperson Jakub Augusta notes, most Ukrainians work in low-skilled positions.
There has been a significant reduction in humanitarian aid payments – in August 2024, 51,500 households received assistance, almost half compared to the previous year. Moreover, 70% of recipients are vulnerable groups: children, people with disabilities, and pensioners.
Of the 383,000 Ukrainians registered under temporary protection in the Czech Republic, the majority are women (165,000) and children (95,400).
