Payments and Changes for Ukrainians in Germany: What to Expect in 2025

In 2025, the amount of Bürgergeld social assistance will remain at the 2024 level. According to current regulations, the payments will be as follows:

Single individuals will receive 563 euros

Partners in family couples – 506 euros

Adults in social institutions – 451 euros

Teenagers aged 14–17 – 471 euros

Children aged 6–13 – 390 euros

Children under 5 – 357 euros

Additionally, parents of school-aged children will be entitled to assistance for purchasing school supplies.

Moreover, the government plans to support the employment of individuals with insufficient German language skills through special subsidies for employers.

Ukrainians under temporary protection who secure employment and work for at least one year will receive a bonus of 1,000 euros. However, those who refuse a job or training offer without a valid reason will face a 30% reduction in Bürgergeld for three months (starting January 1, 2025). Penalties are also planned for individuals working illegally.
